The foundation for strengthening the regional emergency medical system.

Twenty-four bills under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, including the Emergency Medical Act, which laid the foundation for strengthening the regional emergency medical system, passed the plenary session of the National Assembly.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare said 24 bills in charge, including the Emergency Medical Act, the Child Allowance Act, the Framework Act on Low Fertility and Aged Society, the Act on Decisions on Life-sustaining Treatment for Patients on Hospice and Palliative Care, and the Act on Organ Transplantation, passed the National Assembly.

When transporting emergency patients, the appropriate transport system for emergency medical institutions has been reorganized, such as increasing the appropriateness of transportation, allowing emergency medical institutions to actively accommodate severe patients, and re-transfer mild patients.

In addition, it is mandatory to install emergency equipment such as automatic cardiac shockers for workplaces with more than 300 full-time workers among businesses that require health managers.

With the revision of the law on life-sustaining treatment decisions for patients in the process of hospice, palliative care and death, elderly welfare centers other than existing local health care institutions, medical institutions, non-profit corporations, and public institutions will be added to the list.

The government has strengthened its responsibility for blood management by establishing provisions for stable supply and demand, such as managing and distributing the supply price of blood for raw materials. The bills passed this time will be implemented in time for the implementation date of each bill after a resolution by the State Council.
