Incheon City (mayor Park Nam-chun) held the 2021 Bio-Pharmaceutical Incheon Global Conpex event at Songdo Convensia for three days from November 22 to 24.
This year, various events such as conferences, exhibitions, and global export consultations were held at the same time to enhance synergy between related fields related to the bio-pharmaceutical industry. Institutions specializing in related fields such as KOTRA, Incheon Tourism Organization, Korea Pharmaceutical Export-Import Association, and K-Fairs participated together.
The conference, which marks its sixth anniversary, was divided into sessions in Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and South Korea under the theme of "Entering the Overseas Market of Bio and Drugs."
Celltrion's senior vice president Lee Sang-joon announced a successful case of Celltrion's pioneering of a new industry called "antibody biosimilar" for the first time in the world, pioneering a path that others have not taken.
About 80 bio-pharmaceutical companies, including "Samsung Biologics," participated in bio-analysis and diagnosis, exhibitions of their products and services such as raw materials and finished drugs, and corporate investment counseling.
In connection with the simultaneous bio-original material localization promotion meeting, the company introduced products and technologies of the project and its suppliers through the operation of the "Bio-original material localization supply chain" in Incheon.
50 pharmaceutical and bio companies nationwide and more than 100 buyers from 30 overseas countries (CIS, Middle East, Latin America, etc.) participated in the export consultation meeting aimed at expanding K-Bio exports.
This export consultation meeting is expected to contribute to the vitalization of the Incheon bio-industry in that it serves as an industrial platform for domestic companies and overseas buyers.
